About Parksley, VA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Parksley, Virginia’s establishment is directly linked to the advent of the New York, Philadelphia, and Norfolk Railroad on the Eastern Shore in the 1880s. The planned town on the Virginia shore was laid out in 1885 under the supervision of the Parksley Land Improvement Company and his town was incorporated in 1904. Parksley became a chief transport spot for seafood and agricultural products harvested from the local shores. The area’s mild and moderate seasonal weather and nearness to the Atlantic Ocean make it ideal for such industries.

The town is now a charming small town with lots of history, cute shops, and yummy eateries. Laughing Dog Jewelry, for example, makes and sells Homemade Soaps, Lotions & Scents containing Herbs from their Garden as well Soy and Bees Wax Candles. They also, of course, sell jewelry. One of the tastiest restaurants in the region is Le Petit Bistro at Bloxom Vineyard.  If you like wine, then this is the perfect stop on the weekend when the weather is right. Sit on the covered patio and enjoy fresh oven fired pizza and local wine. What more could you ask for?

If you are an outdoorsy type then spring and summer on the Eastern Shore will be a blast. The Mutton Hunk Fen Natural Area Preserve is located on the seaside fronting Gargathy Bay. The park is special because it is home to an incredibly rare sea-level fen community. Sea-level fens are open, freshwater swampy areas located between uplands and tidal marshes. The vegetation is sustained by springs at the upland boundary that supply huge amounts of fresh groundwater. The low nutrient content of the groundwater and the acidic circumstances influence the types of plant life found in sea-level fens. The plants consist of a fascinating mishmash of acid-tolerant marsh plants and tidal freshwater fen plants and five rare plant varieties manage to survive here.
